Through a collaboration with Sabre, CANUSA is now a direct customer of InteRES
Darmstadt/Hamburg/Berlin, February 2018
CANUSA TOURISTIK is using the latest version of Mercado Agent, the flight booking solution from InteRES, in all of its travel agencies. Using version 2.6 of the software, the German specialist for travel to the USA and Canada books all of its flight offers via the GDS Sabre Travel Network. The Mercado Agent replaces FlightExpress, which InteRES had developed for Sabre in 2004 as an exclusive GDS reseller. Working together with Sabre und CANUSA, the Darmstadt-based IT provider has optimized the Mercado Agent for GDS technology, and the software was delivered in the CANUSA corporate design.
Mercado Agent 2.6 gets high marks for its clear and intuitive design which means users need much less training. The salesperson in a travel agency gets a quick overview of all available flight prices, including corporate rates and offers from tour operators, as well as other available fare types and ancillaries. The travel advisor can decide how to begin the conversation with the customer – either with a shop on prices, calendar, fares, and availability – or in the familiar cryptic Sabre mode. With Mercado Agent 2.6, users can also meet the PCI-DSS requirements for credit card security.
In addition, travel agents with the Mercado Mark-up and Rules Engine can also calculate flight tariffs, apply special rules to them, and control how the prices appear in the user interface of Mercado Agent. Even during a customer conversation, an agent can adjust the price within specified limits. This improves sales and increases margins.
Johannes Finke, the Chief Operating Officer of CANUSA is pleased: “We were glad to be deeply involved in the development of the Mercado Agent. Thanks to this, our switchover from FlightExpress was quick and painless. The fact that InteRES took user feedback on board so quickly also made the process easy for us. We’re especially happy that Mercado Agent runs so smoothly together with Sabre on our Apple computers.”
Volker Herrmann, CEO of InteRES says: “Our goal with the Mercado Agent 2.6 is to show prices, tariff groups and ancillaries drawn from a wide range of sources all together in a single display, clearly and effectively. With extensive filter functions, our customers can optimize this display to fit their particular needs.” Anke Hsu, Customer Experience Officer at InteRES adds: “Our close collaboration with both CANUSA and Sabre is truly bearing fruit here.”
Rainer Schaefer, Regional Director of the DACH Sabre Travel Network notes: “With the Mercado Agent built on the basis of Sabre technology, we can make full use of our strengths. And our other customers will profit from this as well.”
